I have an 1187 12 gauge that is difficult to cycle manually. It looks like the magazine follower is protruding a bit too far into the action. I see that they sell replacements in aluminum. Is this a common failure point?

I'm pretty sure the plastic follower is the problem. It cycles fine with mag spring and follower removed. I have a new follower ordered so we'll see if that was the problem in a few daysIntel6 said:I have never heard of that being a problem. Sounds like you may have a problem with your interceptor latches which are two bars that are staked into the sides of the receiver and are what hold the shells in the magazine. If you insert a shell into the magazine, does it stay in and only get released onto the lifter when the bolt goes to the rear? You could take out the magazine spring and follower and re assemble and see if the action cycles by hand normally.
