Is this not using a firearm in the commission of a crime? Makes their illegal blocking of the streets a felony?
I need to start traveling with more firepower.
My wife and I just discussed this. It’s making it really easy for us to stay away from these areas going forward.
IMHO, “they” want confrontation so that “they” can play the victim, and then point their collective fingers at anyone that stands up for/defends themselves.
In the end, it will be portrayed as someone went looking for trouble knowing full well there was rioting in the area (peaceful protestors don’t arm themselves to stop traffic).

Carry a handgun for self defense, sure. Use it in self defense? Absolutely. However I fail to see where you think carrying a rifle in a vehicle is going to be of any use in a situation like that.
You going to exit the vehicle? For one if I was outside the driver door and you tried exiting you would be beat silly with the door frame before you could fart. Stay in the car, keep the doors locked, smaller easier to control entry points rather than an open door.
Stay in your car and, god forbid it come to it, defend yourself with your handgun if you absolutely must, however you're not working a rifle inside a car but maybe in one direction left or right, and drive out of the problem. Let the vehicle take the beating, not you.
Taking a rifle into a mob with no back up is only going to give the mob another rifle if and when they decide to stomp you into putty. Being inside a car is much different than being on foot where you can move.

Using stupid mags that jam? Sounds par for the course. Make a reliable system not so much.

I get it getting pissed. I do it myself lots, considered an AR pistol for a while. It's still not gonna be deployable unless it's in your lap.
Killing someone will be a last resort. If I gotta carry a rifle in the car the world will have gone mad max and wannabe anarchists are not going to be my primary concern. They will die in the first days.
I guarantee you if you start up arming yourself IT WILLBE USED AGAINST YOU AS YOU WERE LOOKING FOR TROUBLE. Why else carry an AR all of the sudden and drive with it laying on you lap. After all that's the only way you will be able to use a rifle while driving. Weather that tactic will be successful by the prosecutor will depend on the size of your pocketbook lawyer and jury.

Situational awareness says warning Will Robinson warning. During my travels to and from work If I see a group crowd around on the street I am hooking a U turn. We all know how peaceful these good folks can be.
