Ammunition manufacturers in the United States are struggling mightily to keep up with increased demand. The National Rifle Association’s news outlet, Shooting Illustrated, reports that the “current ammunition shortage may continue at least until 2021 — perhaps longer.”

Uncertain times in 2020 have driven an increased desire to own guns and, hence, the ammunition needed for those weapons. Increased gun and ammunition sales were initially fueled by uncertainty surrounding the COVID-19 pandemic and the government imposed lockdowns that began in March. The ongoing civil unrest precipitated by the death of Minneapolis criminal George Floyd in police custody in May only exacerbated the situation.

Expected to last into 2021 -- if Trump wins.
If Biden wins, the shortage is expected to last -- well, forever. Supply would never catch up with demand.

I was competing when the Sandy Hook shooting occurred, and I had to stop because I couldn’t get ammo. I learned my lesson and I spent a few years stocking up. I’ll never get caught short again.

After the summer of 2020, any gun ban would probably be ignored. However, you can't shoot without the ammunition.

somebody will have ammo- you just might not be able to run down to wally-world to buy it, and it may cost more that your willing to spend.

Like I said in the last thread regarding the return of ammo. I think it will be about a year after the election before major retailers are up to snuff

But

If we can get to anything that looks like normal times ... Covid fears subside, riots stop ... We may see all the ammo and guns first timers bought come on the market sooner. Maybe ?

Or ... We just got us a whole lot O new second amendment supporters who learned the value of owning?

End the online sale of firearms and ammunitions.
Biden will enact legislation to prohibit all online sales of firearms, ammunition, kits, and gun parts.

Ffl's and local sports shops would be jumping for joy! Prices would jump even higher.

I'm counting on many of the new gun owners HATING 40s&w ... Then.... Come to papa 😃

Everything at this point is just speculation, It all hinges on this election....

I truly hope we don't have to see what a Biden presidency has in store for us....

In times like this I'm glad I picked up all that range brass. So I know have a lifetime supply of 45 acp. 38 special, 357, 44 mag, 308 and 556. Plus more 22lr than I'll probably ever shoot. Plus enough projo's to reload all those calibers.

Time to start reloading steel case...ugh

Why steel case? Brass is cheap and easy to get for almost all calibers.

Good luck in finding brass.

Good luck? C2 Tactical was giving it away to all comers last Thursday and on any given day on their range I can easily round up 2 or 3 hundred empties.

If you are willing to pay for once fired brass you can find it on the Internet without much problem. I see prices have gone up a lot since I last bought some back in April/May but still available.

I've seen where ammo is available but they are using this shortage to gouge buyers. .45 ammo for $1.45 a round, really? Glad I've been buying and stocking up for the past 5 years.

With the loss for sure in Georgia of 1 senate seat and the other circling the drain if we loose both will we have any semi auto's to shoot after Biden gets thru with his anti gun agenda? so the amount shortage is not my first worry.

Now that the Senate is lost, the ammo shortage is forever, better get used to it. The one thing that the power hungry control freaks know is, guns are useless without ammo.

yup, they wont come after guns. it will be ammo and your ability to easily buy it. Bet the first thing to go is any kinda of online sale, and no more case quantities. Will all be background checked along with monthly restrictions on how much your allowed to buy which will be 100rds or less. If anything CA is a preview into the future of guns for the entire country.

buy what you need now or you might not get the chance for a very long time.

Or they will just institute a "safety" tax. You think its expensive now .. people will remember fondly a $500 case of 9mm. Dont have to run through the same hoops to institute a new tax that you do to institute new laws.
