All Furloughed Workers get Backpay

The Senate has approved a bill to ensure that all federal employees will be paid retroactively after the partial government shutdown ends.

The bill requires that all employees — including those who have been furloughed — be paid as soon as possible once the government reopens.

That's why I feel no sympathy for the out of work federal employees. They are getting an extended paid vacation.

To make it even worse, they can get free, no interest loans at any major bank to cover their income and the federal gov will pay back the loan; with interest.

Everyone already knows this and some of them are still working. Seems like the only ones not showing up for work is the NFA office. Air traffic controllers are not getting paid but they are still working.

I don't think Air Traffic Controllers (among other jobs) have the option to "not work" in a gov't shutdown, outside of quitting their jobs.

All the ATC's not showing up for a day or a week would cause such a stir the democrats would fund the wall just to stop the phone calls. I know ATF sends the NFA folks home to cause us more pain than the 3-12 month wait during shutdowns, they are contractors, or at least they used to send them home.

A former neighbor used to curse Reagan for firing him during the strike. Glad he fired the faggy little f***. He stocks store shelves now for a living, was a few years from retirement when he got fired. He had the chance to go back and keep his job but he stayed on strike. He is one of the most rabid democrats I have ever met after he got fired.
