I have a couple of friends who own a few each. Are you having issues with parties etc. or something else?

If it is parties / noise / etc. and it is a regular thing - I'd reach out to the "host" through AirBNB or whichever service they are using - and ask to meet. If they don't respond - then I'd complain to the service and if nothing changes - I'd start calling the cops... The owner and the service both have a vested interest in not pissing off the neighbors.

If it's something else I'm happy to run it by my buddies...

My 2 cents...

I assume you are actually asking if anyone has had BAD dealing with an AirBnB.

I was sharing a house with a friend and we had an extra bedroom. We joined AirBnB to rent it out to travelers because we were nearby Westgate in Glendale. We never had a problem. But that was because we lived there and shared the house with our lodgers, rather than renting out the whole place. We met many awesome people from around the country and the world. It was fun. And the extra money wasn't bad either.

But my family used to also manage residential rental properties for absentee out of state investors for a few decades, and so I've grown up around dealing with renters of all kinds. I simply can't imagine renting out a property short term to anybody unless I lived next door or down the street in order to keep an eye on things. And with my bias I've developed about renter types over the years from that exposure to the renter world,...I'd always be very judgemental and unlikely to rent out to anybody under 40. If you rent out a property to anyone under 30, you deserve whatever happens.

I have been curious about them and how they effect neighborhoods with parties, if they do at all.
Thanks for the information.
