Does any have and what are your thoughts. I have several boxes of 9mm and am thinking maybe a revolver.

Bullet creep is a concern, especially in the small frame revolvers. A fair amount of target 9mm isn't crimped well. You'll need moon clips for it to be viable. I've come to loathe moon clips as time has passed. I had a LCR in 9mm and it was ok. Sold it off and have no desire for another.

The absolute beauty of revolvers is the simplicity. You drop little round pills in little round holes and you never worry about spring fatigue or anything else .. .. when needed or wanted you pick it up and pull the trigger. Yea .. you can keep moonclips.
Now .. I think charter arms has a 9mm with some special system that doesnt need clips but .. in the end .. it adds junk to an already perfect system
I have seen guys at Ben Avery and PRGC shooting their 8-shot 9mm revolvers, and they are AWESOME. I would love to have one.

I had a Ruger revolver that fired 9mm.
It was a very good gun and shot good.
It shot as good as any other revolver.
I just didn't like having to use the moon clips.
I sold it and have not missed it.

I believe there are revolvers that do not require moon clips. Ruger offers a .38 caliber revolver with a separate cylinder for 9mm.
I don't get why people have a problem with moon clips. They make reloading so much faster and easier.
I'm looking at the Miculek video, where he just throws the clipped ammo in the general direction of the cylinder and it falls in.knockonit said:smithers599 said:

Many years ago, I had a S&W 1955 (.45 ACP), and reloading with moon clips instead of speedloaders felt like cheating.

I don't care for the moon clips for the simple reason that they are a pain in the ass to carry and I don't wear a belt like Miculek does.
On the range and playing around they are fine. For every day carry , I don't think so.

Couple of times I had a 10mm piece of brass expand to the diameter of the cylinder and then was stuck pretty good. Had the cartridges been independent then I would have just pushed the NON stuck pieces out with my pencil eraser and then worked on the one that was stuck or just give a fair whack to the ejector rod.
With the moon clip I am sitting at the line like a monkey trying to fuk a football trying to get one piece of somewhat expanded brass out while it is stuck to the other 5 rounds via moon clip and trying desperately to not bend up the moon clip in the process.
Oh and forget about how delicate they are and one weeeee bend and your cylinder doesnt want to turn

I own 3 different 9mm revolvers. The Ruger Speed Six and the Ruger SP101 supposedly require moon clips. I shoot them without the moon clips. I just use a wood dowel with a drawer pull knob on one end to poke the casings out. Both revolvers are tanks. The SP101 is concealable and shoots pretty well. The Speed Six has fixed sights and hits a little low and to the right for me. But it is basically the same as a Security Six which some of you may be familiar with. It is the precursor to the GP100.
If you want something older, interesting and if you like S&W’s see if you can find yourself a Model 547. They only made about 10k-12k if I remember correctly. There is an interesting story behind them if you research them. This revolver does not require moon clips. I believe Charter Arms copied or did something similar with the Bulldog in order to be able to eject the spent casings. I like mine and I shoot it a lot. It is accurate and hits to point of aim. And of course the trigger is typical of S&W.
The earlier post regarding bullet creep is a very real issue. With new and reloads it occurs. Doesn’t matter how I crimp, some bullets still creep.
