I have a 930 spx and don't bother. Extractor issues, which Moss doesn't have spare parts for. You have to keep the gas system extremely clean for it to run smoothly. Plus the chamber is extremely tight, and it won't run anything but full power shells. Also, the rear sight won't stay tight on the rail.

I would sell it, but I would feel guilty doing so. Maybe Moss has addressed the issues, but I would be cautious buying one.

Had one in here to repair awhile back, so many things on it that had to be fitted and tuned for it to work right. Got five Escort MP-A shotguns here that run like a sewing machine and cost less than a 930

I had one, a JM and it too had extraction issues with low brass- WM Estate loads. Full power Rem 00 Buck worked fine. I noticed there was a line on the bolt where the receiver rail screw was riding so I removed the screw, lubed the bolt well, then fired off a box of low brass and the problem went away. I shortened the screw and reinstalled it and still didn't have any extraction issues... so considered the problem solved.

Eventually sold the gun as I needed to downsize and decided to keep all my pumps... now I'm thinking I wouldn't mind having a semi-auto again, probably a Rem.

Love my spx for what I bought it for... running high brass buck and slugs. Agree it can be finicky if you go lower power rounds. Sights were replaced so no issue there.
All that said, there was a very nice 18” Hk super 90 m1 for sale on here for not much more than I paid for the spx years ago that I wish I had bought!

Interesting. I got one shortly after they came out. I’ve never had a single problem, even running some of the crappiest Walmart discount shells. Even run close to 1,000 shells without a cleaning and had no issues.

I’ve had 2 of them and haven’t had any issues with either one of them...they weren’t earlier models (2010,11,12) etc that were plagued with cycle issues and i went into buying one knowing that...I have one of those nice 12g brushes for the gas system and clean them about every 500rds...just like a lot of guns u get a lemon and a turd...but I wouldn’t hesitate buying another but that new 940 is on the list....

I didnt know the 930 was that bad myself. I am as well looking for a new shotgun, looks like I'll stay away from this one!

I never had issues with my JM pro. I broke it in with 250 00buck rounds though.

I have two, a 930 JM and a SPX. Never had issues with either. ~1100 rounds through the JM and ~500 through the SPX. Contemplating on getting a 940 at the moment.
