I believe PSA is going to start offering steel case 6.5 Grendel, which should help with ammo pricing. I should have bought more Wolf 6.5 Grendel when it was flowing into the country. I really like 6.5 Grendel since it works on the AR-15 sized parts. I have a 20" with a Larue barrel that use to be my 'long range' AR.
I know you have the parts on hand, but take a look at the Ruger SFAR in 6.5 Creedmore. It's an AR10 platform built on an AR15 sized receiver. I bought one in .308 that I love the size/weight. It overlaps the arena that the 6.5 Grendel use to fill, so you have other options. Until PSA offers their Grendel ammo, I think 6.5 Creedmore is in the same price range.
So now that I have the Ruger SFAR, I might get a 12.5" barrel for my AR15 in 6.5 Grendel. I think it could really shine in a SBR/pistol configuration. I realize that is not what you are going for, but just another option.
