Where in the valley can I find a shop that sells a good quality Steel framed 1911 in 45 ACP ?
Thanks

A few weeks ago Guns Plus had a Springfield Custom Shop - TGO1 on consignment. It was #251 I believe the build date was 2019, not may of them around, not a finer 1911 built anywhere. Mine was built 2003, Springfield build time currently for a TGO1 is two years.

I never buy new at a store. Private deals are for me. While I seldom buy (because of prices and I want a straight up deal) I do stop at pawn shops when driving by. I'm really surprised in some of their selections of better end to top end 1911's at decent prices! Today is a seller's market with lower end guns. Blows me away seeing Glock (new for $500) sell for the same as a Dan Wesson (new starting around $1200) in today's market! Last time I stopped by Mo' Money Pawn at 12th St/Indian School in Phx they had a pretty nice selection of new and used 1911's (pawn shop prices, but don't they aways haggle?). Very nice little gun shop back in the rear of the main shop. Plus they offer FREE transfers for first responders or even us old veterans.

AZ Firearms in Tempe usually has a good selection of 1911's as does C2 Tactical in Tempe. I was actually surprised at the inventory at C2 the other night. And not what i would call price gouging on the guns either. Ammo is still scare and over priced but the gun inventory seems to be getting better at some places at least. Full size 1911s are not the first choice of most 1 gun owners so seems like a good chance of finding them most of the time. Also AZ Gun Buy is another forum mostly for selling. There are a couple 1911s on there right now. I have done some good deals on that site. its a little wonky and has some flakes but it is a resource. https://www.azgunbuy.com/search.php?searchid=643081

What kind are you looking for? Any particular models/features?

I like an under cut trigger guard and front strap checkering. Both are usually not too more expensive than a model without, but expensive to add later.

Same with a beaver tail safety or bobtail cut. Sights, thumb safeties and grips are pretty cheap to change to your preference later.

I found a Kimber II with a 5 inch barrel with a fiber optic front sight and the Rosewood grips at BassPro in Tempe. It was $870 out the door. I have had a Kimber PRO CDP II for years.

It is an all Stainless steel gun. No worries about rusting from sweat. Should last forever.
