There are already businesses that won't give you a job if you don't provide them your social media info.

It's probably a good thing that I am not in the market for a job. I do not participate in social media. (I do not consider forums such as this as social media.)

Too bad all rights don't require such scrutiny.

I wonder if in Illinois, being a conservative on social media will get you denied?

What specifically do they ask for?

While I have no personal experience, from what I heard it usually involves you logging into your accounts so they can see what you put up. I think I remember possibly handing over your password for them to snoop around as well (you would obviously change it after they are done). I believe they will also have already done a search utilizing your name to see if anything pops up they don't like or want to question you on.

These are obviously not for minimum wage or blue collar type jobs but used for white collar (was that racist? LOL), corporate type openings.

Illinois Dems introduce bill requiring gun buyers to reveal social media accounts before getting firearm license

Bottom line,.... when one submits, one is admitting to being a gun person,... basic back door registration.

The Catastrophic Consequences Of Gun Registration

"At the core of the gun-banners' program is national gun registration."

"But gun registration is very good for one thing -- confiscation. And even more immediately, gun registration is ideal to bolster the quickly growing public persecution of gun owners."

And how exactly can they prove what you give or don't give up is accurate, anyway? My social media is not under my real name and never has been. Let them check if my name of record or given email accounts correspond with anything on Facebook. They won't.

Hmmm,.... I always thought they had the technology to link every entry on the internet, to an IP number,... and then, trace that IP number to its origin.

Isn't this incorrect?
