Don't see what the issue is, lots of ranges thruout the states have same type of facility, range, eatery, bar lounge,

Sky's falling attitude isn't mine if you're referring to me with the comment. I'm mentioning the fact that of the three 'news' stories about this place opening that I've seen, the title of the story purposefully includes the fact that they serve alcohol and allow shooting guns in the same facility - one even mentions "family" in it. You'd have to be obtuse to not understand that the media loves to run the alcohol-and-guns-don't-mix narratives any time they come up (guns in bars bills, etc) - and seems they are setting this one up with a potentially volatile subject to try to invite those noisemakers to light up their torches and bring pitchforks and start that "we don't want a bar that allows and encourages shooting in the same facility" in our neighborhood. So thus my comment: I hope they have a good PR person.

I heard there is some kind of scanning system onto the range.
Somehow if you've scanned into the bar (can't enter without scanning,) even if you haven't consumed alcohol, you will be denied entry to the range.

It's nice to see a range other than Ted's out in the far south east valley. I recall this place having ridiculous membership fee's when they first announced. Now it looks like their names also changed. I'm looking forward to seeing the final product and their prices. Looks like their site is down so I can't see what they currently list pricing at.

I was at Teds earlier this year when I heard the college age children in the lanes next to me remark "That's the last time I'm giving you weed before shooting". There's nothing stopping someone from knocking back a few cold ones in the parking lot or anywhere else and walking into any range to shoot. Maybe if the RO and counter employees were DREs or trained to recognize even mild impairment, but otherwise as always, safety is an illusion and we ALL have to be vigilant (I know, preaching to the choir and all).

Tucson Trap and Skeet Club has had a bar and restaurant for as long as I can remember.
They have never had any problems that I know of and I have been going there for years.

I'm not saying there are problems with it. Obviously we're all well-aware that any range can't control what a person does before entering. I'm saying that there will be perceptions of problems with it based on how the media portrays it - and that's what the media wants. They seem to be insinuating that this new place encourages you to dine with your family, then drink and go shooting. We know it's not that way and they half-heartedly point out the 'safety' procedures in place to prevent that way down at the bottom of the article as if it's an afterthought, but at the same time they know that 90% only read the headline or the first paragraph, so they benignly hope for an outcry wailing about mixing guns, alcohol [and kids from the 'family' aspect].

I seem to remember the "news" channels freaking out when AZ allowed you to conceal carry in businesses that served alcohol...THERE WILL BE DRUNKEN GUN FIGHTS EVERY NIGHT! "News" channels thrive on creating fear over nothing. Since the vast majority of restaurants fail, I see this more as a bad business decision. Running a profitable gun range is difficult enough without a restaurant sucking profits...they have to serve alcohol to even have a change at profitability.
