Registered on Sunday online. Hope to get a spot on the line - however I suspect it may be competitive to get a line position, even for the smaller Spring Shoot. Fingers crossed. Hope to see other forum members there.

Question for someone who has been before - the website says that the dirt road to the site is accessible to most vehicles... just how accessible is it? My car is fairly low to the ground.

I have had friends get there in a Honda Accord! It is only a bit rough, but a few miles, and sometimes the Big Sandy Wash is running up to about a foot and you just have to cross if it's been raining. People get there in RV's and all kinds of cars, I would only worry if preceded by heavy rain.

Rv's you say. Never been before, but are you able to bring an RV or 5th wheel camper and stay overnight?

Shooters usually camp or RV up on the firing line. I've rented an RV when my wife comes along, rented moving truck for use with cots when I'm just with my friends, or slept in the back of my 4Runner when alone. There is also a free camping / RV area for observers. No power or sewer hookups - no potable water supply - no dumping RV sewage tanks - strict generator use only from 7am-10pm.

If I can only visit for 1 day, what would be the best day?

I’ll be coming up from Phoenix with 1-2 friends. None of us own machine guns, but we are interested in visiting for the festivities.

Saturday night shoot includes more fireworks. I'd get there Saturday at 1pm, do lunch at the 4H tent, walk the firing line a few times to take in the plethora of weaponry until the line closes at 5pm, wait until it gets dark, bring a camping chair and watch the night shoot at 8:30ish.

If you pay the $300 for a line position, bring your guns. If you pay $35 spectator fee, bring your guns to shoot matches (AR, Garand, SMG, Bolt Rifle).

The Israeli Super-Sherman with the 105mm main gun and D30 122mm howitzer in "direct fire" was a sight to behold. The competitions were fun, I hope I placed in the top 5 for bolt-action, Garand and SMG. Otherwise, I just enjoyed the show/spectacle of shooting down RV planes with LED bars on them for a couple of nights and lighting up the night-sky with my .30 browning shooting the 54R cartridges. Awesome time, everyone should go to at least one night shoot.
