I'd be fighting against people who were guilty of treason and violating the Constitution and Bylaws of the United States. So, they'd be the traitors, not me. I'd be defending my country against enemies, foreign AND domestic just as I swore to do in the Army. There was no time limit on the oath we took.

Tell me, how has that worked out for the Bundy's, Snowden's, Finicum's and countless others who really challenge the unlimited power and resources (see your money) of the federal government. History teaches that every successful revolution has hundreds of false starts. History did not record the names of all those hanged for treason before the public opinion shift for independence, and even that less that a third.

The American revolution was a landmark event in that it was the first and only time rich and poor people alike threw off an oppressive government in favor of freedom. The next American revolution will be the same as the other 99 percent of revolutions, socialist in nature.

If you think your oath to a long ignored document will make you a patriot in the eyes of history, you're very wrong. You'll be killed or imprisoned like every other traitor. And that's a shame.

They've got to get me first and that won't be easy at all. I've had training that the cops can't hope to equal and if you talk to some of them face to face, they'll tell you that they know they're no match for ex military who served under arms.

The Bundy's, et al weren't doing what the majority of patriots would consider a hill worth dying on. Gun confiscation is.

If it happens, the Air Force, Coast Guard and Navy will mostly be out of it. The Marines will be with the patriots for the most part as will be at least half the Army. The Special Forces guys will be out hunting politicians.

I don't think it'd be anywhere near socialist. That happens in other countries, but America is not like any other country and I don't see that happening here.

Flash, most LEOs are former military also. All the ones I know liked kicking in doors in Iraq, that's why they joined. You are 100% wrong about the military standing down. They will follow orders.

But the military won't be used, cops will. It'll be a no knock red flag raid in the middle of the night when the swat team comes for you.

And America is already socialist. Has been going that way my whole life. And I'm older than the "Great Society"

And if property rights aren't worth fighting for, you have no rights to anything, even your guns. Which are your property for now

The SWAT team? I hope so. I've watched around 20 hours of SWAT training, around another 10 of SWAT competitions with other teams and perhaps 3 hours of them in action.

They don't worry me in the slightest. They're a one trick pony.

And no, I'm not wrong about the military. I'm ex Army and I shoot every week with 2 other ex Army, 1 ex Navy, 1 ex Seabee, one Marine who also became a Merc after 2 tours in Vietnam and a recently retired Navy Seal. I know where they all stand and where the people they knew when they were active duty stand. There are a few cops that like kicking in doors and they won't last too long if they ever start confiscation. At that point, confiscation will cease.

You're right we're more socialist that we used to be and I figure if we're going to have a Civil War, we might as well roll back that part of America also.

Flash, I wish you well. I hope you'll take a few steps back and objectively look at the situation. I came of age so to speak during the Vietnam war era. I remember well the turmoil of the late 60s and 70s. Leftist radicals bombing crap daily. Watergate, the Pentagon Papers, Church Committees, MK Ultra. It was easy for anyone paying attention to conclude the American government was a corrupt, evil institution that used up the lives of its citizens just like the NAZI'S did.

The people of this country is what made it great. That's what I always felt made us great. Today, the bomb throwing leftist, hippie radicals of yesteryear have been teaching and leading the last two generations. Well over 50 percent of our fellow citizens are tied to the government through employment or entitlement. I raised 7 kids and now have 5 grandchildren so I see their friends, I see what schools are teaching.

America isn't great anymore, we're simply living off the fat of prior generations and it's coming to an end. Most likely a violent end. If you were good in the military, I don't have to tell you that no battle plan survives first contact, and always have escape route.

I went in the Army in 1966, so I know exactly how it was. I know what it's like to come back to Travis Air Force Base and have a bunch of hippies calling you baby killer and spitting on you, or more precisely, thinking about it. They didn't actually spit because I think they saw God. I had a bad temper in those days. I've mellowed out to where I'm only occasionally mad these days.

Thanks for your post Flash. I was USAF from 65 to 72. Two tours in Nam. Got spit on and called baby killer both times returning home to Phoenix when they saw the wings on my uniform.
