Dear Mr. pneuby,
Thank you for contacting me to share your concerns with H.R. 8, the Bipartisan Background Checks Act and H.R. 1446, the Enhanced Background Checks Act. Hearing directly from Arizonans about the issues that matter to you is essential for me to effectively represent you in Congress.

I believe that we can both protect the constitutional right to bear firearms and pursue gun safety reform, as common-sense gun control measures should in no way require law-abiding gun owners to give up their firearms. These two bills would do just this by taking action to require background checks ahead of certain firearms purchases and extend the background review period, while including several important protections and exceptions for responsible gun owners. In early March, the House of Representatives passed both H.R. 8 and H.R. 1446, and they now await further action in the Senate. Although I recognize that we may not agree on this issue, please know that I appreciate you taking the time to advocate for the issues that matter most to you.
