Re: M&P9 Shield Plus (13+1)
I’ll prob try it out. Big fan on my shield but tend to carry g43x with the 15rd mag just for capacity.... 13 rd shield with safety would be the best of both worlds for me.

I love my Shield 9mm and Shield 45 acp.
I also love my P365 and Hellcat. I tolerate my Glock 43

Have a stimulus funded 3.1" ported-fiber optic on preorder with Brownells. Will be a nice surprise when it shows up.

I have a couple of the old versions of the original Shields so I'm guessing this is something in my future.
Here's a pretty good review of the gun after 500 rounds through it:

Was interested in the Hellcat until I saw this. I do like my M&P guns. I have the single stack Shield and like it but want the extra capacity. How is the Hellcat holding up? Conceal as easy as the Shield? The Shield almost seems taller but I haven’t seen side by side. Held the P365 and liked it, definitely small enough with more rounds.Rock Hardson wrote: ↑March 15th, 2021, 7:51 pm I love my Shield 9mm and Shield 45 acp.

AZ1182, that is the exact reason I will most likely get the new Shield. No new holsters.

Nice, I had just been considering a shield for carry recently. I like this better....

Re: M&P9 Shield Plus (13+1)
Since this post is getting love from current owners, I thought I'd post a caution here.
A friend had been carrying his Shield 9mm and suddenly found the mag was NOT remaining locked in place. Enough rust had formed around the mag-button shaft to interfere with the ability of the spring to both, nudge it back into place, and STAY THERE. A good scrubbing and lube cured it, but it really freaked me out that something like that could deadline the piece. Check your's from time to time.. Stay safe.

I’m interested in the new Shield. I will look for spare magazines first.

As good as this looks (and I'm a dyed- in- the-wool S&W fanboy) the Ruger Max9 looks even better to me.
It'll all come down to what feels best in the hand though. But the numbers on paper look good.

Re: M&P9 Shield Plus (13+1)
Received my shield plus friday. I am very impressed with it thus far. So marginally different in grip than the 1.0 that it’s hard to discern the delta. Other than the flat trigger and more aggressive stippling you’d be hard pressed to tell a difference without studying it. Trigger is a huge improvement over my 1.0. Will be taking a little bit of 220 grit to the grips to lessen the chance of bloody love handles, but other than that I’m extremely happy with it. Would love to have a few extra mags but they seem to be hard to come by for now. I’m sure supply will catch up eventually. For a ccw a 13 and a 10 are good for now.
Re: M&P9 Shield Plus (13+1)
Mine is in at the dealer will pick up Wednesday after work. Probably have a few Shield 1.0s for sale if this works out to be a good upgrade. The mag availability is distressing.
