Two Former Rangers Wanted to Combine the Best Parts of the AK-47 and AR-15.
Two Rangers finally may have settled the debate between fans of the AK-47 and adherents of the AR-15

Gee, only $4,000 for an "upgraded version of the AK-47"

Oh god it's 2008 all over again. Remember the "next gen" rifle wars?

FN SCAR already did it. Before that, the Magpul Masada did it. Before that, Robinson Arms did it.
And before those, the AR-180 did it. It's been done. A lot.
There are reasons AK's are not made of aluminum.
"Potter said producing an AK model is very labor intensive, estimating it takes around 40 hours to produce a single weapon." Well, that's complete bull sh!t. AK's are built in a fraction of that time frame. The last builders class I attended was a two-day event...could have built the gun in 4 hours.
$4,000....lol.

There haven't been anything truly remarkable in small arms development for several years at least as applies to the core operating systems. I think the the future will be either caseless or some sort of EM (rail gun) tech. The bad is that the ruling class will restrict this tech to us common rabble. So in hindsight it's maybe a good thing that we are at the peak of conventional arms tech.

WTF is a "firearms specific machine shop"?
"AK is labor intensive"?
"AR can't be improved"?
Almost nothing in that article made any sense.

They're not everyone's cup of tea, but I absolutely love them. The only things I hate about AKs are the magazine release and optics mounting.

For that much money, I’d rather find an old Krebs custom.
