Can any 5.56mm rifle currently on the market really make a significant improvement on the current crop of AR15

The Aug /F90, Based on 1960s design, with the bolt face and method of camming seeming to reflect the influence of Stoner's design
Ace based on 1930s (trigger based on M1 Garand)/1940s (AK47 action) designs
x95 based on 1930s/1940s designs (M1 Garand/AK47 long stroke gas piston action)
scar based on 1960s design (repackaged AR18 action)

are good options with ups and downs

People keep coming up with new 5.56mm guns, most are heavier, most are using pistons. However, do any of them offer a real substantial improvement over the current crop of AR15s?

Then after all these pages we have went through .the answer is no. It was a bad design to start with and it's a bad design to this day. Nothing but crap. I would take a mini 14 over it any day

It's easy. The OP asked do they really make a significant improvement. By what I was confronted with the barrel is the same so is the ammo. God has spoken . No ,no significant improvement at all.

That KM rifle i a New twist on an old design. Cool but at 1700.00 plus still does not beat the AR in anyway except OAL with a 17" barrel. Id still like one as i always wanted a Bushmaster but that production was from the Ban Era.

Not saying it's not a nice rifle but what "new twist" did they put on the bullpup design?

The concept of which dates back to at least 1901 by the way.
