Screw both of you. If it was up to me we'd create a border around CA and keep all you idiots in there to rot in the filthy mess you created. Congratulations on doing it to AZ as well.AZ1182 wrote: ↑November 9th, 2020, 1:36 pmWelcome, neighbor. Seriously, I live in Prescott too as well as some others. All good people from those that I have met in person.

Doesn't matter if he's "one of us or not".
For every "one of us" that moves to AZ, twenty "or nots" move in.
If AZ doesn't want the state to go the way of CA, the people of AZ need to look at Californians like the plague.
Arizonans need to systematically show all Californians, regardless of what they say they are, they're not welcome in Arizona.
I've been on this rant for a good decade now, and the shooting community always comes back with, "But they're the ones escaping, the ones coming here are the good ones."
For the most part, the AZ shooting community WELCOMED Californians. Look what you have now, a state that voted for Biden. A state that put Mark Kelly in power, and he's going to take guns and raise taxes. Now shooting in the desert is going by the wayside.
Good job, nice strategy. Glad it's working out for all you idiots that welcomed the Californians in with open arms.

"For every "one of us" that moves to AZ, twenty "or nots" move in"
So, your solution is to badger those who are your allies? Here's a news flash, the "or nots" are coming one way or the other. They're locusts, a plague, pestilence, landing in a new place, ruining it, then moving to the next. I watched it happen in California (California was a nice place in 1985 when I moved there), and hoped Arizona could hold the line. Maybe it still can, who knows? If it makes you feel any better, I took my public pension and am spending that untaxed chunk of money here, depriving California of those taxes. Same with the money from the sale of my house.
I get your anger. Don't agree with your strategy, but I understand. It's counterproductive though.
Either way, I'm here, and I'm staying. If you want to help me, great. If not, that's OK with me too, I'm a loner anyway, so I won't miss your company all that much. Either way,, it's your prerogative.
For the record, I've never voted for a democrat, and I'm also not too crazy about most Republicans.

You cannot use logical fallacies as an argument, it will never work.
I'd go on some more, but since you seem well versed in being stuck on blackout drive, so I'll leave things be.

Re: New to Prescott, Advice Request
Welcome Robert,
I just retired in March and moved here to Prescott Valley in April. I have a lot of family in CA and I have told them I am not coming to I visit for the holidays. Not only is CA starting to lockdown again and telling everyone not to have family over for Thanksgiving but I refuse to spend my money and help prop up their economy. BTW, my very small pension from the Operating Engineers Union also leaves CA every month and I am a big proponent of buy local and helping the local economy.
The guys over at High Country Guns are great people to talk to. The problem they have is like everyone else, their inventory is low due to all the panic buying. Also check out Bill’s Trading Post. They are mostly reloading supplies but last time I was there they had a decent inventory of guns for sale.
I go out to the local range at least a couple times a week so if you are ever out this way send me a message and we can meet at the range.

What range are you shooting at? I've been doing my shooting at Compass Training Center, for no other reason than they had the best price, and are only about 20 - 25 minutes from my house.
As soon as my new gun gets here, I'll be going to the Prescott Action Shooters USPSA matches (sold most of my competition guns before leaving California, good time to be doing that).

I usually shoot at Insight Shooting Center as they are close to my house. I have been wanting to go to Compass to shoot pistols at 25 & 50 yds and do a little load development with a couple of rifles. I have not been out there yet. Maybe we can meet out there one of these days.Robert1234 wrote: ↑November 15th, 2020, 10:59 amThanks.High Standard wrote: ↑November 15th, 2020, 5:41 am Welcome Robert,

I’m no where near being a competition shooter. I just enjoy shooting my old guns.

Compass Training is pretty nice, and pretty easy to get to. People are pretty friendly so far.

I had cataract surgery on both eyes last year. First time since I was four that I didn't need glasses.

That’s great! Her first eye has been pretty successful considering it has not been 2 weeks yet. She still has a spot of blood like a floater that is still clearing up. Otherwise she doesn’t need glasses for that eye. It’s kinda funny she is wearing glasses with one lense in it.Robert1234 wrote: ↑November 16th, 2020, 7:40 pm I had cataract surgery on both eyes last year. Re: New to Prescott, Advice Request
When my first eye was done I stopped wearing glasses. The good eye compensated enough that the one still waiting for surgery wasn't an issue.
Doctor keeps telling me I need reading glasses, but I don't. Other than the two months where my vision was like looking out a filthy window, the cataracts were the great cause it got my eyes fixed.

That’s great! I have worn glasses and contacts since I was 8. It would be nice to see without them.Robert1234 wrote: ↑November 16th, 2020, 7:55 pm When my first eye was done I stopped wearing glasses. The good eye compensated enough that the one still waiting for surgery wasn't an issue.

My wife said she might need reading glasses after all of this is said and done.
