Hodgdon now includes Accurate and Western powders

#1

Post by Harrier »

Got an email today from hodgdon...
Seems to indicate they bought Western Powders, which also includes Accurate, Blackhorn, Goex and Norma...
Except for Alliant, they seem to now have a monopoly on powder in the USA... Nothing on the Hodgdon or Western websites but at the bottom of the Accurate site is a new Hodgdon banner
http://www.accuratepowder.com/

Think this will affect availability in the future?

Interesting. I'm not sure if this is good or bad. One thing that will be nice is (I'm assuming) the Western reloading data will be eventually rolled into the Hodgdon Reloading Data Center.

That'd certainly be nice. Hard to complain about. Hopefully they can leverage purchasing power and combine logistics/shipping lines and bring the price down to consumers...

... or just like their pockets thicker...
