If they can find it- seems people will pay high retail prices + tax + shipping... rather than a slightly high priced private sale+ 0 tax when they think the seller is making lots of $ because he bought it cheap and put it away...

I have to admit, I never understood the "sell it to me cheap because you bought it for cheap" mentality. I bought my house for "cheap(er)" 20 years ago too. But today's market says it's worth more than that.

I don't know what to say about friends who haven't stocked up in the last 8+ years. Ignoring price, how many cycles of availability/unavailability have we gone through?

I don't think ammo is going to be well-stocked any time soon. This seems to be the sentiment on Twitter right now.

The price increase definitely sucks, but hopefully it won’t last much longer.

I’m still laughing at the fact that CTD legitimately has 5.56 ammo priced out to where it’s $1,700 per 1,000 rounds lol. I really hope nobody is buying from them.

$1700.00 per 1,000 rds! Saw the 9MM on Buds that when for $695.00 for a 1,000 rds. There's some seriously concerned people out there that have lots of money. For many many years I was happy with .15 cent a shot then had to except the.22 cent a shot for 9MM by 2011. There was the fast report Thread here back in the day for sighted ammo that was just found on the shelf back then.

This year need to END!

Not rubbing it in, but I just reload 9mm in bulk for just under $.16 per round today. Press and necessary accessories have been paid for many years ago, so has the powder & primers.

Lol unfortunately this will only continue as people keep paying these outrageous prices for ammo.

Price goes up. People buy in panic, hoping to get it now before prices go higher. Then everybody follows suit. Price goes up again. Cycle repeats.

Luckily, I have a bunch, and have a few places online and locally I can get stuff from for still a somewhat reasonable amount. Much higher than I'd like to pay, but not like some places charging $700 to $1,000 for 1k/5.56

If you look at the bidders , almost all of them have no rating and a couple have a rating of 1 or 2.
It makes you wonder who is buying this stuff up and where it is going.

Just looked at J&G website in Prescott. Wow, they look like Cheaper Than Dirt prices. $650 for cheapo Rooskie .223 and $700 for 9mm. Brass case, add on another 100 bucks. Boy, I'm glad I reload.

Things have gotten really strange. I dont know if there are rip offs happening but I just sold off the rest of my 9mm. 70 rounds .. met the guy and ... he proceeded to take out each and every round from the boxes and examining it like he was looking for covid. I thought he would look at a few just to make sure it was what I said it was but .. 70 rounds
