Reloading & Ammo In Stock Around The Valley

#1

Post by zold »

I stopped by a few places today and here is what was in stock, so that it helps someone else out, or at least saves a trip. Hopefully, we can keep a running list going so that everyone can fill their range bags between now and the end of the current shortages.

C2 Tactical in Scottsdale was pretty well cleaned out, except for some 44 Mag and 45 ACP Sig defensive ammo.

Big 5 Sporting Goods in Scottsdale had some hunting ammo and two or three boxes of Winchester rifle primers.

Sportsman's Warehouse had a surprising amount of ammo in most calibers earlier today, but a lot of folks shopping as well. Not much for reloading, unless you need 50 Cal primers.

Cabela's also had a lot of ammo in non-9mm calibers. If you need 10MM, 45ACP, 357, 44Mag, there were options. Reloading supplies were thin with not much at all to choose from.

Happy to help. If anyone runs across small pistol primers, I'd love to know as that is the one thing that I'm out of at the moment. Also, anyone that wants is welcome to contribute their findings to this thread so we can all help each other out.

lol, the whole world is outta spp, even reloading companies are offering to take your primers and load ammo for you.
primers are only made by 4 companies in the states, supposedly there is a couple boat loads coming from europe, russia ectd, they are in customs and well. we know how that works pending what kinda fella is in charge of pushing things thru review.
best to shoot conservatively till the light at end of tunnel is seen.
for you that are short goods;

Yeah it's a mess right now.

I did find that there are some primers that Sportsman's will let you order online, but limit is 10 sleeves of 100 each day.

So I did just that for some Federal Gold Medal Large Rifle Magnum. Basically they are on sale right now as well. $34 and change per thousand and you can't pick up in store until 8-24.

But needed some anyway, so ordered them.

Agreed, replacement stuff always shows up eventually. I found them in stock in Ontario (https://www.firearmsoutletcanada.com/cc ... 1-000.html) but the Canadian boarder is a bit far from my house and the Mrs would probably kill me if I planned a vacation around picking up primers. That and we'd probably end up in jail due to violation of a munitions import law, which would be the kind of thing that you never hear the end of. :?

Small pistol primers are nowhere to be found...I'm sure they are somewhere...

We usually order 100K small pistol primers at a time from a friend, who is a well known US distributor. I placed my last order in March and have seen nada so far. Spoke with him last week and he told me it will be a while and that he currently has back orders of 50,000,000 Winchester and Remington small pistol primers and there will be no Wolf products available for the rest of 2020. Not exactly encouraging.

Cabela's has hunting type ammo in stock in a variety of calibers. For pistol ammo, the in stock items were more obscure calibers like 41 Magnum or 454 Casull.

Have been out and about looking for 9mm FMJ regular ball range ammo. Nada . zip.
Put in notification requests on a couple online sites, so we'll see.
Just got a shiny new carbine and can't even get ammo to light that thing up.

Ted's in Queen Creek has some ammo, but for range use only, and it ain't cheap....
sheesh.... The east valley is bereft of 9mm. I checked even out at Globe yesterday and nuthin.
Walmart is cleaned out and both the guns and ammo shops were actually closed down.

just sayin
