They are basically there for inexperienced firearms consumers who buy guns once every ten years or so.

I agree with not going into these places with stupid ass procedures like this. I don’t need anything bad enough to put up with some stupid rule that is doing nothing but causing a headache to even be in the store.

Not interested in either place anymore. Back when the limited the veterans discounts, that was it for me.

I used to really enjoy going to the bargain cave. They used to have a lot of gun related item there.
The last year there seems to be no real amount of firearms related gear there anymore.
I remember getting good deals on grips, holsters, reloading gear, rail accessories and scope mounts.
Now there is only the few scopes and thats it. Wonder what happened.

I have not been to either place in years, dont really like big crowds, first I am hearing of the Bass take over. It was fun as mentioned to take the kids when they were small.
Stop by Sportsman's occasionally to grab some one offs I dont want to order off the inter web.

Re: A**hat policy at Cabela's ('n Bass Pro)
I have only been to Cabelas once and that was because I met someone in the parking lot to make a gun sale.
I have never been to Bass Pro.
It looks like I haven't missed anything.
Almost all of my purchases are either private sales or online.
Every once in awhile I will stop at a gun store if I am driving by and look around.
There is nothing I really want or need so I don't spend much time looking around.

The only time I visit Bass Pro is when it is hot outside and kids want something to do. Kids love the stream, the fish tank, boats, quads.....and I like the A/C.

They have become a joke. Bass pro always was except for the fishing section. Kinda sad to see Cabela's fall down, but it's half way to LA for me anyways.
There's a tipping point for companies when they get big. They trash what they do, why they do it and who they did it for.

As a kid growing up in Nebraska it was always a treat to go to the original (and only) Cabela's. It wasn't a shrine to testosterone like today. Their bargain basement could keep you busy for hours. I'm sorry to see it grow so much and fall to Bass Pro. It used to be a shop folks would drive to from miles away.

Re: A**hat policy at Cabela's ('n Bass Pro)
Bass pro really messed it up..nice scopes for a good price in the bargain cave, coupons that you could use on Firearms, being able to try out the trigger on your next gun..all that went away when bass pro bought them out, I’ve heard the same story from a lot of the different older as in seniority employees..only good thing left is a clean bathroom and the fudge shop...

Two years ago was the last time I was there. Checked to see if the items were in stock on line. Glendale store in stock. When I got there nothing on the shelf or in the back. Waist of time and gas.
