Yet another polymer mag hits the market...
I normally associate Leapers UTG with cheap airsoft junk, but they're apparently trying to be a player in the AR components market. Magpul, Lancer, Hexmag and others seem to have the corner on the market but I guess there's always room for ome more. Anybody try this yet?

Their stuff seems to be a mixed bag... the junk made in China is just that... junk but from what I've seen, the stuff they make in USA seems to be decent budget quality to pretty good.

They would have to be 5 bucks a piece for me to jump. Wouldn’t make bad stash/range mags. But with so many great options at 10-12 bucks why bother?

These are $7.99 with code "MFT".

I have no first hand experience with these MFT mags. However, I've seen several reviews mentioning that when left loaded long term, the feed lips become misshapen, and the rounds pop out of the mag. Worse...the feed lips *stay* misshapen, and won't hold rounds in.

The original, or "Gen 1" MFT mags were made from pretty soft plastic and had issues. This new design is supposedly better.

P-mags all the way for me. These guys are throwing their hat into an already crowded market. Everyone already has their preferred brand and I don’t see many switching.

If the price ends up being cheap enough, newbies will buy them.

I've seen these in the $9-$10 range.

Re: Yet another polymer mag hits the market...
I recently picked up a couple of the American Tactical Schmeisser 60 round fiberglass polymer magazines. Just tried one out the other day. I did two 60 round mag dumps with no problems. The bolt did not remain open though. The package says that the last round bolt hold open may not be consistent in some AR lowers.

A crowded market will typically drive prices down... a good thing for us.

flashed back to being an MP, early 80s in Germany, that’s how we drew our ammo, on open mag, and then 6 30 round mags, but sealed in 2 foil packs, which went into the mag pouch...if the seal was broken, it was assumed there’d be some paperwork for the command
