Tavor vs AUG
I'd like to get a bullpup and these two seem like the best options. If I go with the AUG I'd get the one that takes AR mags. Which do you prefer and why?

Re: Tavor vs AUG
Tavor is better in my opinion but I like the AUG too. Tavor already takes AR mags. Trigger is way better and there are options to make it way way better than the AUG. Way more aftermarket support for Tavor. I prefer the SAR vs the X98 Tavor though I'm porbably in the minority.

Re: Tavor vs AUG
I think the Tavor is terrific. Like Turrican, I prefer the SAR compared to the new X95. I have enough extras that I won't change models for a long time. Even though there is a local bullpup builder, I prefer the battle tested rifle.

I think he's thinking of http://www.kmarms.com/
Edit: Maybe not. K&M does make a nice bullpup though.

Re: Tavor vs AUG
I had an AUG 24 years ago and loved it, but the Tavor is a big improvement in my opinion. I too prefer the SAR to the X-95, but I do like many of the X-95’s changes. It comes down to the overall feel of the rifle, and the SAR feels more solid to me. It is my favorite 5.56mm rifle.

Re: Tavor vs AUG
The Tavor SAR is extremely reliable rifle. I bought one when they first came out in 5.56. I converted it to 9mm and its a hoot to shoot. I see they now have a 300 blackout version. If I was looking for a new one, thats what I would be looking for.

Re: Tavor vs AUG
I have an AUG made by Saber Defense and a ton of the original mags. I really like it. I wish it had a bottom rail yet for the intended task I find it very nice. If I did not own the AUG I certainly would own a Tavor.
Does the Tavor have the adjustable gas system like the AUG?

Re: Tavor vs AUG
I own both and like both. My Tavor is an x95 in .300 Blackout, and i have a conversion kit to .556. I never got the Sar so i don't have a frame of reference between the Sar and X-95 (kind of wish i would have looked at that more when i bought mine). The trigger is way better on the Tavor as mentioned above. Ergonomics are improved over the AUG and you don't need a conversion stock to use Stanag mags. My AUG is also in .556 but i have a rare 9mm conversion kit which makes it a blast to shoot. So for me advantage Tavor for the trigger but you will like either. I also own a FS2000, which is a lot more interesting in some ways but would not be the choice for my only Bullpup.

The position of the magazine release button has to be a joke. Please tell me that that is the case.AZ1 wrote: ↑July 8th, 2018, 7:45 pmInterestingsuperdrag67 wrote: ↑July 7th, 2018, 7:39 pmI think he's thinking of http://www.kmarms.com/

Re: Tavor vs AUG
I fifteenth the vote for a Tavor. the Aug is a classic and you can't go wrong with one but the tavor is more modern and has a greater aftermarket support. Someday I'll get one too.
