Don't worry guys. The Venezuela invasion is nearly here. They got a brand new Russian-supplied AK factory a few years ago that we'll get to pack up and ship over.

900 Bucks for a WASR 10, WOW. Many, many years ago I picked one up at J&G's for around $300 including tax. Almost tempted to put it on the market. But I enjoy shooting it, so I'll hold on to it. I still can't believe $900. Wonder what my $70 Hugo SKSs are going for now?

Hmmm,.... I may be mistaken, but, I seem to remember Bulgarian AK's coming on the market for less than 200 bucks. Been quite awhile, and my memory isn't what it used to be,... I'm sure I will be corrected, if I am wrong.
I didn't buy any AK then,... and haven't bought any AK since.

Guess you should have bought 10 way back then. But who had the money and wanted to keep them in your closet since then.Cubiclerevolt wrote: ↑April 20th, 2020, 3:14 pm What in the hell is going on with the AK's these days.
I remember having a SAR-1 about 8 years ago that I bought for 450 bucks.
Now here we are in 2020 with a WASR going for more than most AR's.
There isn't any restrictions with Russia or any of the former com-block countries that I can recall.
Is there limited parts kits for these because of 922?
And therein lies the rub.
I remember when you could buy Colt pythons at the hardware store, yep local hardware store or Sears or Montgomery Wards for $300. But that was a lot of money back then and who knew they would be worth so much now. If I could tell the future I would be rich, as they say.
Many years later it was Norinco MAC 90s for $199 straight from China at the gun shows.
The main point is it's not what it was worth back then, it's what's someone's willing to pay when your willing to sell it.
Supply and demand baby.

I picked up a bulgy 74 for 300 or 350 can’t remember. (From centerfiresystems) And the 7n6 was plentiful and mags were 10 bucks. A lot of that has dried up but it’s one of my favorite rifles. I was hitting silhouettes at 500yds with irons in a class one time. (From a rest and afterwards to see how the 5.45 did at distance.)shooter444 wrote: ↑April 26th, 2020, 3:59 pm Hmmm,.... Yah, I thought the Bulgys were probably the nicest made of the imports,... but, it has been a VERY, VERY long time since they first came to our market place, and a whole lot less expensive, as well.

You should do a little Googling on Samuel Cummings, the head of Interarms/Interarmco. Back in the 50's and 60's you could buy (mail order) everything from a full auto 50 cal Browning, to a tank, from his warehouses in Alexandria, Virginia. He had a warehouse in Manchester England where he shipped all the surplus WWII weapons he bought around Europe for pennies per pound, (if the rumors

If only we could go back and get our hands on that metal! It’s like when the military surpluses and sold old WWII aircraft for next to nothing. Can’t touch a P-51 for under 2 million today hahashooter444 wrote: ↑April 27th, 2020, 11:08 am YUP,... everything issued, could be had,.... back in the day when freedom reigned!
