T. Mark Graham of Arizona Response Systems is one of the fellows Derek apprenticed under years ago. He's based in north Surprise. His talent is stellar,...and he has a waiting list that accordingly reflects this, unfortunately.
If short time is one of your parameters,...he may not be your guy. But if you're willing to wait for quality,...check him out. He is most known for FALs, but is just as skilled at HKs and AKs. He often goes by the handle "gunplumber" on many forums.
Derek transferred the assets of AZEX to another gunsmith here in the Valley but i can't remember what it was called and its lost on the old forum. That might be a place to start. I am just glad i got all that AK, FAL and HK stuff out of my system before AZEX went away. I hate change....
Thanks for all the replies fellas. I just received the rifle today and it appears to be standard welded/silver solder pin job holding the flashhider to the factory length (short) barrel so I'll be able to SBR it and drill it myself once approved.

ARS as mentioned above or Kilo Guns near Deer Valley Airport.
ARS does great work but has had a long wait for many years.
Kilo Guns cut and pinned a barrel for me that looked like they also dragged it down the street behind a truck.

So who did you go with ?
His reply was that he is doing the work (removing the flash hider) himself.

My go-to for AKs is actually My Guns up in Oregon. His work is fantastic enough that I don't mind shipping. I've only used Kilo for AR barreling and headspacing, but I've never seen any of their AK work that looked like what you got.

Correct. It is a simple blind pin into the barrel so I'll just drill it when the Form-1 is approved.
I don't have any personal build experience with Lee Armory. But, I randomly stopped in one day and one of the guys did take a bunch of his time to answer a whole bunch of AK newb questions for me. He knew that I had already bought a PSAK, so he wasn't going to be selling anything more than accessories.
