She should be fired immediately, stripped of her ability to ever put on a badge and gun, and taken to court for compensation to the victim. Sadly, it seems this is the direction they are going to continue, all because the people have been brainwashed into believing that they're there to "protect and serve". While some do, and actually "keep the peace" as a SWORN Peace Officer, many believe they are Law Enforcement as a primary purpose instead of a peace keeper. When enforcing the law contradicts with being a peace keeper, they choose the former.
