I ran across a sealed 1# bottle of IMR 4064, 1# Hodgkin Longshot, 100 large rifle primes, that has been sitting in my garage for about 8 years.
When I finally have the time to get around to using the press and dies my brother shipped me, I don’t want my first attempt at reloading to use compromised powder or primers
With that length of time in the extreme heat, I was wondering if that powder/ primers would be any good to use.
(I plan on reloading in about 2 years when as a retiree, I have time to do so.)
Dump it or keep it?

I'll take it if you want to dump it.

Re: Dump it or keep it?
I've used primers that were 20 yrs old at least, all went bang, same thing with powder, as long as it doesn't have the "red rust" and doesn't smell acrid, go for it.

Same here, as said above "as long as it doesn't have the "red rust" and doesn't smell acrid, go for it."

I loaded some 12ga from an unopened can of Unique from the early 70’s. Was just fine.

Re: Dump it or keep it?
I've never had a problem with heat and reloading components. As long as I "keep my powder dry" I've used powder and primers that are 20 years old with no issues.
