Exceptionally good. The price point is high but they are machined well, durable and accurate movements. Good clear glass. Customer service is acceptable.
That said howevernI have gotten near same results out of vortex at a lower cost

Re: Night Force Scopes
Been around for a long time. Competed in the tactical world and F class world. The gold standard was taken from S&B and passed to NF I’d say around the 2010 time frame. Maybe a lil earlier. They aren’t feature rich for the price point. I’ve never cared for the reticles either. CS is ok. Not the best.
I wouldn’t buy one but I wouldn’t turn one down either. I think there are better companies for the money

I also have had good luck with Burris top end scopes for long range shooting.

Regarding vortex I had a screw head shear off last night. Sent an email around 2100 already had a phone call verifying the mount type and an email with replacement parts on the way

Re: Night Force Scopes
NightForce scopes have been my go to scope for 20 years. Since I'm not independently wealthy I also have Bushnell, Vortex and Burris higher end scopes. All are very decent scopes but not in the same league as NightForce IMO. My favorite NightForce scopes is the ATACR line but the NXS line has served me well for 20 years.

Re: Night Force Scopes
I've always understood their top tier scopes to be truly top tier - like "there really are not better scopes - just differences in personal preference." I've only shot through top end stuff a few times and each time was amazed at the clarity. My points of comparison have, until recently, hunting scopes in the $300 - $600 range - so please take my comments in that context...

Re: Night Force Scopes
As with anything involving optics - typically the more you pay - the better light transmission, clarity, and coatings is the difference. Most people don't realize this till they are in a situation where it is important - or have a cheap/midrange/high-end scope side by side.
Am I going to put NightForces on all my firearms? nope - Vortex / Athlon / Nikon works just fine for my skills and usage, but the NightForces I do own are quite noticeably better in certain conditions that the others.
Like my Camera lenses - My walking around lens is a mid-range Sigma. But when I really want the best shots, in any environment / lighting - I whip out the expensive Ziess lenses.

Re: Night Force Scopes
the thing with Nightforce is the limited elevation adjustment compared to others in the same price range
if you go really far out...
you will run out of clicks
still running Leupold and Steiner for high end
Redfield and SWFA on mid grade stuff

Re: Night Force Scopes
Thanks for all the great input/info! I went ahead and picked one up for a third of retail price, so I figured I couldn't get hurt too bad.

Re: Night Force Scopes
Nightforce optics are nice. You can take it off your rifle, beat someone to death with it and put it back on and it will work. That being said, I don't ever plan on doing that with my rifle scope. They are overly heavy and at least to my eyes the clarity is not nearly as good other top end brands. Just my opinion but if I am going to spend high end money on optics there are quite a few other brands I would buy over the Nightforce based on optics quality and weight alone.

The above is my assessment as well, never considered beating someone with it but yeah, they are tough.
