No boat but I did sell a few in this time of trouble and made a profit. Think it's time to buy a boat and a BIG magnet and go fishing.

Worn out story
Try another line to at least make it seem plausible

With that I am selling all to comply with the new nazi regime
Far be it I not conform

These days, the old boating accident story is less of an actual excuse requiring plausibility, and more of a euphemism for 'I will not comply'.

Mine were all in the storage unit while I was traveling and got auctioned off when I forgot to ensure my auto-pay on the storage unit.

That's a pretty good excuse. It doesn't roll off the tongue as smooth as "I lost all my guns in a boating accident."

Mine were stolen out of my trunk of my car while parked at Walmart in Maricopa.

Can’t really afford the boat anymore since I lost my job due to Covid and had to sell my guns to put food on the table for the family. Luckily I was quickly able to sell for cash when I needed it the most to survive these tough times.
