Pro2a, I don't know, I have never had the situation arise, for me. I believe I have read what you questioned, and you are correct. But, remember, you read this on the internet! 8-)

Personally, I don't think about under aged buyers, when all this concern for ID is discussed. Obviously a grave oversight on my part. I guess I figure I can determine age by looking into the buyers face, and if I question his age, deal with it then and there. .

When I have asked people (less than a dozen) why they ask for ID, the automatic response is "I DON'T WANT TO SELL TO A FELON".

Well, I believe I have covered that topic, ad nauseam, above.

Go into their profile (click on their avatar) and toward the bottom you'll see "rate user".

Allows positive and negative ratings.....for those of you cranky old farts that seem to have a problem with each other lately...

I think you answered your own question.
Ranger1 wrote: August 7th, 2018, 6:33 am Then I guess I better buy from a Private party people, not sign the receipt and give no info. That way it can't be tracked to me. Thanks I will do that from Now on.
If you never want a firearm traced back to you, then yes, but didn't you say you take a picture of CCW & DL. That blows the whole anonymity theory.

I think the waters are getting a bit muddied.

I can't think of any reason why anyone would fear a weapon being traced back to them, just not a problem.

UNLESS

You are knowingly doing a "straw purchase sale"!

Or, you knowingly are selling to a prohibited purchaser!

Or, you are selling a stolen weapon!

Or, you originally purchased it from a seller that constantly buys and sells without a FFLicense,... you never know what they are peddling, because they don't know! :hand:
It easy, let's say I buy my sig from a dealer. I'm a good guy I sell it to you. You sell it or trade it to another party. That party gives it to his brother in law as a gift. Someone brakes into his house and steals it along with other stuff. He commits a crime with it kills 3 before the cops shoot him. Now forensics has it calls sig and tracks it to dealer. They give them my name and number. They call me and ask WTF. I say I sold that gun 3 years ago or what ever. In this state I'm free and clear of any wrong doing because of the law. Now if I was one of the 4 people In between the original buyer and the criminal there is no proof I had it and no questions asked.

And later on in this post I said sometimes I would not care for a DL or CCW. Guess when???? When the person selling me a weapon steps out of a police car. Unmarked tahoe or suburban. Detectives car and they are wearing a badge. O I bought a sig 220 elite from a judge in Indiana and he walked me through the metal detectors to his office I paid for it. No receipt he didn't care ,he gave it to me there and he walked me back to my car. That was neat..

How about just one more time, for those who missed it?

-----------------------------------------

It has really been cathartic to finally enlighten/discourage the ignorant who think any form of paper work, e.g., driver license, CCW card, rent receipts, pass port, bill of sale, birth certificate, etc. etc.,... will prevent them from legal charges if they sell to a prohibited possessor!

Arizona Law dose not say " selling to prohibited possessors will not be prosecuted, if you have a bunch of paper work!

It simply states " if you knowingly sell to prohibited possessor, you pay the legal price",...period!

Geeze guy!! You know, this is not rocket science!

Last time, in clear simple english, so even you can understand.

If you HONESTLY say "...nope did not know" ... then, yes, you are free and clear. BUT IF YOU LIED :liar: , and then got caught for lying, you will face prosecution.

And, I'll add a friendly little FYI, just you you, cause you catch on so quick ,... if you think you can lie to law enforcement and get away with it, you may want to rethink that one. :snooty:

GOT IT... NOW!

What, you really think your smart ass remark about "getting off free and clear"
wasn't taken the way you intended? Sorry, everyone isn't as stupid as you and that idiot old troll you are taking over for!

You have graduated to my 'IGNORE LIST' user control panel option. But don't fret, you're in good company, that other Cali brained idiot troll is there and will entertain you, I'm sure!

YOU'RE GONE!!!
