Hi,

I want to have a S&W Mod 39-2 single color Cerakoted.

1 - Boogeyman only does Glocks at this time due to overwhelming work to do.
However, if they had time to do the "Stripped" Smith it would be $90 ($45 for slide & $45 for frame)

2 - Cerakote & Perfection Industrial Finishing are the same company with 2 locations, Tucson & Phoenix
They want $250 to Cerakote a Stripped Frame and Slide.
If I want them to disassemble and reassemble the pistol it is $200 ($100 to disassemble & $100 to reassemble)
Turnaround time is 7-10 days, if pre-stripped.

3 - Area-51 wants $160 ($80 for slide & $80 for frame) to Cerakote a Stripped Frame and Slide.
For them to disassemble and reassemble it is $30. (not sure if that is both disassemble & reassemble or if it is for disassemble and an additional $30 to reassemble).

4. Phoenix Custom Rifle only does bolt action rifles.

I find it interesting the wide range of charges and do not understand this wide range.
$90 by one company
$160 by another company
$250 by another company

Does anyone have any idea or comment regarding the wide range of charges.

Thank you,
Marty

No idea on the wide price delta, other than supply/demand/back-log/etc.

Might also check with these guys (Tempe):

Or these guys (Mesa):

Or these guys (N. Scottsdale, inside C2 Tactical):

Yeah, $250 is a bit steep, especially if that's only single-color.
Wright or Valley Forge should be able to do it for +/- $100 less.

A huge +1 for NP3+ if you can swing it. Had a couple done when Robar was still in biz. It's amazing, but definitely not cheap. I think Wrights is doing a 10% off special on it this month though!

Thanks to all who gave me other options for Cerakote my pistol.

I do not belittle anyone from making money.
It just seems strange for this wide of a spread among competitors.

However, there is always a possibility of I do not want to do it price.
When I was an exhibitor at gun shows I would usually have something on display, as a display only and marked not for sale, I would occasionally get pestered to sell it. So I would put a "I do not want to sell it price" on the display item.

Marty, I would have to agree. That NP3 will also improve the feel of that 1st-gen M39 action.
So, nice bonus benefit to having a classy look on a classic pistol.
