One has to be very careful when reading reports on the war. Nearly every single one has a bias from one side or the other. I come across it all the time. Remember that Russia developed propaganda to a high art during the Cold War, and never really stopped doing it. And the Ukrainians know how to play the game too, since they learned it from the Russians and employ it right back.
This is why, as silly as it sounds, I always balance any news or reports against what I'm seeing come across the social media I monitor on the subject. There is propaganda there to look out for too, but there is real data coming from real people in near real time as well. The modern day social media feeds coming across in nearly real time make fakery much harder to pass on as real. Like the NATO weapons that supposedly were bleeding into Europe to mobsters and creating bloody chaos. It hasn't happened (yet), and the fake vids supposedly showing it were all debunked nearly instantly.
There are thousands of former military intel analysis guys and gals following the same social media posts I see, and poring through them with a professional eye. They report what they interpret, providing an open source intel picture that is pretty astounding. Never before has the public been able to get such insight from the battlefield as quickly,...and I dare say,...accurately as well.
I would suggest that anyone who wants to follow what's going on with the war should check their news sources against what this army of open source intel weenies is reporting, and check your preferred news sources against that incoming data stream. There is an awful lot of deception going on everywhere. We as gun folks know that gun news ALWAYS has to be reviewed VERY critically, because almost no news today is without bias, and a lot is flat out fake. Its no different with the war in Ukraine.
The articles posted above had some truth, but most is impossible to verify at the moment.

Gotta agree with you guys for the most part fake news is everywhere.
I posted these links because they represent a different perspective from the constant mass media drumming of Mighty Ukraine is defeating the dumb ass Russians.
Russia drove Germany out of Russia in WW2 and went on to take most of eastern Europe. To think that Ukraine, even with NATO support is going to defeat Russia seems, to me, Highly unlikely.
If NATO had lived up to its agreements with Russia we wouldn't be in this situation today. We're spending billions of your, mine and all Americans dollars to fight a war that never should have happened.

Despite whichever side you think is most at fault for the Ukraine war occurring in the first place, or whether the U.S. should or should not be involved,...everyone is trying to predict what happens next, and what happens if THAT happens. Many very smart and qualified people are making lots of very educated guesses.
However, one of the fellows who openly and accurately predicted that the war was going to happen years before it did, even predicting when with spooky accuracy, is Peter Zeihan. Now I want to make it clear that I am not holding this guy up as the great oracle or anything. But his track record on this has been better than most, so his opinion on things should be among the ones anyone should include among those to be considered. He will be the first to say he has not been right about everything. (Who has?)
Zeihan puts out lots of videos on Youtube weekly. He is a geopolitical observer, meaning he doesn't just look at war, but economics and demographics as well and the interplay between those and how/why nations do what they do. If you want to learn more about what he has to say and why he says it, his stuff is easy to find, as are his books. He's one of the most booked public speakers on such topics and has consulted with/for the Pentagon a lot. He's been interviewed on many podcasts like Joe Rogan, Jack Carr and others.

The biggest problem with what Zeihan says about Russia expanding their borders is Russia (as the USSR) gave up Eastern Europe. At the time NATO agreed to Not bring the Eastern European countries into NATO.
So what happened? NATO has slowly but surely brought the Eastern European countries into NATO to the point Russia now has not independent countries on their western border but NATO countries.
I guess Ukraine was the straw that broke the camel's back for Putin. A country full of military bio-weapon labs, nazis, globalists and money laundering for the elite hankering to enter NATO.

After his criticisms of the "Special Military Operation", Khodaryonok walked back his previous doom-and-gloom assessments presumably after a visit by the FSB.
