Jeff Zucker adds in his memo to CNN staff: "In the past week, we have been made aware of three employees who were coming to the office unvaccinated. All three have been terminated. Let me be clear -- we have a zero-tolerance policy on this."
No it's not. HIPAA merely states that nobody but you can divulge any of your medical history without your consent and nothing more. Anybody is free to ask about your medical history without repercussions. You just don't have to answer them.

Again, no it's not. The 3 divulged the information themselves, something HIPAA leaves them free to do.
Nobody but the 3 themselves could possibly know they weren't vaccinated, so it's obvious they outed themselves. It could be as simple as Warner asking to see their Vaccination cards. If they say they have no cards, they out themselves. If they say the cards are none of Warner's business, something HIPAA allows them to do, then Warner can fire them for non compliance.
No matter how you slice it, it's not a HIPAA violation.
