Remember kids, in Switzerland, there is literally a machinegun in every house. Sometimes several in a house!! Yet, the Swiss are not shooting up their government. (Although maybe they should.) This destroys the narrative of the left that broad easy access to war weapons leads to mayhem. No, government easy access to war weapons leads to mayhem.

So with my background in logistics I had colleagues who worked in CH. We were both fascinated by the similarities and differences in our countries gun laws.

Like there carrying a rifle is pretty standard and going to the range is as popular as golf is here. You don't even buy ammo as you can just take it at the range. People were getting ridiculous with the hoarding so they kind of rationed it a bit per session but it is something you can do.

Regarding their rifles they have fully automatic/select fire ones and a certain amount of ammo that has to remain boxed up that they cannot open unless they are called to muster. Getting a concealed permit is kind of a pain in the ass like in California as you must present a reason as to why you would need it, however most crime there is low due to being a monoculture.

After their service they can have their Sig rifle's auto sear taken out and replaced with a semi auto sear that they can keep at home for personal/protection use.
