Do they reward or punish “local pickup”?
No punishment, no reward. Give them the money, they give you the ammo.

They got rid of the "in store pick up" fee?
I've never been charged for that.
Here is transcript of Chat I just had:
Good morning , how can I assist you today?

Somebody said that if I go to your store to buy ammo, there is an "in-store pickup fee." True, or scurrilous rumor?

That fee is only if you order online for in store pick up, we reserve the ammo for that order for 14 days! If you walk in store and purchase without an online order, the prices are the same as online with no fee!

They may not do it now, but they absolutely did it in the past. "Online" prices were 15%-25% lower than "in store" for years. The last time I shopped there, pre-covid, they had S&B 6.5 Creedmoor plinking ammo for $16.89/box online...in the physical store it was $28.99 per box. The idiot at the counter told me it was "becuase we have to maintain a physical shop, and that has overhead"...as if rent was 50% less as long as they didn't have a 10'x10' retail shop and allowed people to walk in and buy stuff?

You know how it is...a Big Mac is $5.49 if you get it from the drive-thru, but they are $8.99 if you walk into the building and sit down.

Glad they stopped this practice!

Is this brass cased or aluminum? Makes a difference in what it will run in, for me. Thanks, and yes, put me down for a couple of K's at $200.

I'd be in for 5k if you switch to brass cased like S&B. But not interested in Al or steel cased.

I have a good amount of brass so I like aluminum for indoor ranges so I don't worry about picking up.

I often think about the story of the African guide who would not take reloaders...because they cared more about their empty brass than the animal they just shot!
