T-Mobile now says no 2A content allowed on their texting networks

So T-Mobile will be surveilling your texts to see if anyone is trying to advertise to you via text anything they [highlight=yellow]believe[/highlight] to be illegal [highlight=yellow]OR[/highlight] immoral, including firearms stuff. If T-Mobile mistakenly believes that braces are somehow still illegal, or they just think they are immoral, and some company sends you a text with one offered for sale, T-Mobile intends to (somehow) fine them. (How does that work if the advertiser is on Verizon? I don't know.)

But this policy also extends to political campaigns. If T-Mobile believes the message is somehow against their policies, they will take action. Gee,...you don't suppose they will consider ANY message from Trump as against some policy here or there do ya? Naaaawww, not a chance.

And how does any of this, if not all of this, not violate the 1st Amendment 9 ways from Sunday? How do they get away with reading your messages?

I hate Verizon and was looking to dump them and had been looking at T-Mobile. But no phuking way in Hell am I gonna ever spend a penny with those basterds now.

As if I needed one more reason not to go to "T Maybe" (what my son calls them - based on his success getting coverage in areas that were never a problem for him when he had Verizon). I'm not a huge Verizon fan - but at least their coverage works where I work... and if this is true about T-Mobile and not them - then that's another positive.

As much as I’m glad it’s not my carrier this should raise a lot of concerns. These fools all do a lot of the same procedures. Also what happens when a carrier is sharing networks? Not a good thing either way,

This page talks about non-consumer messaging (i.e., business as in marketing campaigns)

"Unfortunately, to avoid paying the business fees and following the compliance steps required for non-consumer messaging, some unscrupulous aggregators put non-consumer messaging into the consumer channel on “gray routes.” Businesses that unwittingly use grey-route for the delivery of their messages risk having their messages delayed or simply not delivered, as well as having their reputations and operations damaged. "

There's a link on the page to the T-Mobile Code of Conduct (a pdf.) The date on the pdf is from 2020. The only reference in the Code of Conduct pdf specifically for firearms is for an age check on marketing campaigns.
Section 5 of the CoC discusses Prohibited Campaign Content.

5.1 Unlawful, Unapproved, or Illicit Content
No messaging programs can run on the T-Mobile that may promote unlawful, unapproved, or illicit content, including but not limited to:
• SPAM;
• Fraudulent or misleading messages;
• Depictions or endorsements of violence;
• Inappropriate content;
• Profanity or hate speech;
• Endorsement of illegal drugs
Programs must operate according to all applicable federal and state laws and regulations. In addition, the content must be legal across all 50 states. All content must be appropriate for the intended audience. Additional legal and ethical obligations apply when marketing to children under age 13, and such programs might be subject to additional review by T-Mobile.

Aggregators and Message Senders are expected to enforce restrictions on their networks to prevent onboarding these types of content. If determined to support any of the following restricted content T-Mobile reserves the rights to all, and not limited to, the following actions:
• Suspension of sending rights for provisioned application address or campaign;
• Restriction of onboarding new message campaigns;
• Suspension of provisioning rights for new application address; and/or
• Suspension of all network services on the T-Mobile network
5.2 Disallowed Content
The following content categories are considered deceitful and nuisance campaigns which may result in high volumes of SPAM complaints on the T-Mobile network. Due to these issues, we will no longer support any campaign under the following categories, regardless of any prior approval. Messaging use cases that support the disallowed content outlined below may request an official exception in writing by T-Mobile through an official T-Mobile exception approval process. Any exception that existed before September 1, 2020, should be considered invalid.

I see no mention of fines. There is a section for cutting off vendors that violate the CoC.
