South Africa demands subjects surrender 300,000 guns.

It will be interesting to see how many people turn in the guns, and how many say "Molon labe, MF." Could be instructive on how such a scenario might go down here.

South African military,...

Active personnel 78,707 (2014)
Reserve personnel 15,107 (2014)

Yes, this quickly acquired stat is 4 years old, I don't know if the numbers have increased, or decreased, since then.

I am a firm believer in, do unto others,.... as they did unto you!

Around and around it goes,... when it stops,... no one knows!

They gone.....But seriously. Very sad what's happening down there. I always wanted to visit after seeing Chappie and District 9. Looks like a NO-GO zone now.

Prelude to the forthcoming gov't sponsored terror reign. It is much easier to expropriate your farm when you are disarmed.

Needless to say, but, as this publication supplies stats for GUN CONTROL,... it obviously fails to mention that GUN CONTROL led to GUN CONFISCATION!!!

Talk about a Prelude to a forthcoming gov't sponsored reign of terror!!!

A LITTLE GUN HISTORY,... https://www.snopes.com/fact-check/little-gun-history/

In 1929, the Soviet Union established gun control. From 1929 to 1953, about 20 million dissidents, unable to defend themselves, were rounded up and exterminated.

In 1911, Turkey established gun control. From 1915 to 1917, 1.5 million Armenians, unable to defend themselves, were rounded up and exterminated.

Germany established gun control in 1938 and from 1939 to 1945, a total of 13 million Jews and others who were unable to defend themselves were rounded up and exterminated.

China established gun control in 1935. From 1948 to 1952, 20 million political dissidents, unable to defend themselves, were rounded up and exterminated.

Guatemala established gun control in 1964. From 1964 to 1981, 100,000 Mayan Indians, unable to defend themselves, were rounded up and exterminated.

Uganda established gun control in 1970. From 1971 to 1979, 300,000 Christians, unable to defend themselves, were rounded up and exterminated.

Cambodia established gun control in 1956. From 1975 to 1977, one million educated people, unable to defend themselves, were rounded up and exterminated.

Defenseless people rounded up and exterminated in the 20th Century because of gun control: 56 million.

Dave, you nailed it. Looking at the history of what happened to the white farmers and miners in Africa. This will be a death knell for that economy and way of life. I had the pleasure of socializing with some of the crew from the South African racing boat named Warrior. Things are changing very rapidly in SA.
That said, I don't see these descendants of the Boer settlers going down without a fight.

That 3% thing..

I hope the South Africans are better at math than the 3%-ers, as about 15% (~375k) of the Colonial population served in the Continental Army or state militias during the Revolution.

The Boere should give their guns back one round at a time. What's to stop them from moving into Botswana and Namibia, both of which are friendlier to whites, and the governments of either would pose much less of an existential threat?

I wish that Bucky from the old AZS was active here. He is a transplanted SA citizen. Would enjoy hearing his thoughts on this.
