So I started out looking to replace my old sig 556r and my internet research took me down a rat hole of all the new sig rifle models that I’ve apparently turned a blind eye to for the last 10 years... mcx, rattler, virtus, ya da, ya da.
But now I’m intrigued. Sounds like virtus is the newest and not internally compatible with the older mcx. Rattler is neat but too short a barrel to be effective in my opinion.
Which brings me to my point and question. What inputs do you experts have on the mcx vs virtus? I’m thinking of buying one in 5.56 either 10” or 16” but can’t find a virtus to save my life. I can find some mcx’s still for a decent price. Is the virtus worth the extra money?
Last part of the question... the brn180s looks to be a very good, cheaper, available substitute for the sig. anyone have experience with both and can weigh in?
