Sig 229 Enhanced Elite

I just inherited a sig 229 enhanced elite . Filthy never been cleaned in a long while. It was bought 2012 for 599. Are the 14 yr old pistols better or worse than 1200 new? Is 14 yr sig sought for its age? Throwing it in ultrasonic with simple green aircraft grade. Will lube and blast away if nothing scary reveals itself. This person passed three mos back, I think he went shooting that day real dirty....

I like both the 229 and SRT trigger. I think the $1200 makes it more of a niche/"for the collection" type of gun.
