Independent of what That Guy provides - I, for one, really appreciate having a local sheriff who appears to understand the limitations of federal authority. I can see why the lefties absolutely hate him and those like him - they are standing in direct opposition to the constantly expanding authoritarianism of the federal government.

Here’s a dirty little secret. Almost all cops have screwed up kids. It’s pretty much the rule. I can count in one hand the number of cops I know that have decent home lives and raised normal kids.
