It seems the White House wants it leaked on purpose that Delta and DevGru are on deck. Do they want this in the wind for domestic political consumption, or are they actually trying to intimidate Hamas into releasing the Americans,...or both?

It's not a big leap in logic to assume that the USA's (and likely the World's) premier/Tier 1 Special Forces units would be called upon to rescue US hostages anywhere on the globe. This exact scenario is one the prime reason those units exist in the first place.

Hamas leadership is not stupid...they are just more creative than you and I when it comes to complicated plans to kill themselves.
