Ruger PC Carbine Owners

I know there's a few of us now. Curious as to which optic (if any) y'all are choosing? I picked up a TRS-25 for mine (but I might put it on my old PC4 instead, and move the Nikon 3x9 on it to something that it'd actually be useful on).

Meanwhile I've been trying my ass off to find a PCC in 40 but they're pretty dang rare.

I just picked up a PC Carbine from another board member a couple of weeks back. I took it out to the range the other day, and it was awesome. I loved the iron sights on it, and I'm not sure if I'll even add an optic or not.

A PCC in 40 would be cool, but I'd love to see them make one in 10mm.

I have a burris fast fire 3 in a low pro mount with protection wings. Works well and not too obtrusive

I have a Holosun Green Dot on my Ruger PCC. Works great. Did a few mods as i like tinkering, probably not needed. Have a few others i have not done yet. I like mine as its a takedown and easily packed in my Jeep for offroad trips. So far no issues with Glock mags although i have read some have had issues. 10mm would be awesome.....

Thanks, guys. If I end up not liking the Bushnell, I'll give one of those a try.

And yes, if they ever offered one in 10mm it'd be bitchin'.

I have one of the old originals in .40.
Great little rifle and accurate with just the iron sights, only downfall is limited mag availability since all it uses are the old P series mags.
Wish they made an adapter for Glock mags for it.

I have one as well. The mags are definitely hard to come by, but the thing I like least about it is the ridiculous trigger. :doh:

How bad? I think that the PCC has a great stock trigger that doesn't need to be replaced. But your post makes me wonder about the original as it used to be coveted as a buy now sight unseen, until I found out that I have no uses for pistol cartridge clambered rifles at all.

By far, the worst of any firearm I own (or have ever owned). You have to overcome something like 3 or 4 safety mechanisms with the trigger pull. Disassembly/reassembly sucks too.

Don't get me wrong - it's a nice little rifle. I've never had a malfunction with it, and it's still a lot of fun to shoot. It'd just be a helluva lot better if it had a trigger comparable to the PC Carbine. The only way I'd ever get rid of it is if I eventually do get one of the new ones in that caliber.

That’s no lie, one thing that at least on mine is an interesting step where you must pull the bolt back about half way when you drop it back in its stock or it won’t function.

I just bought a PCC carbine and was wondering which optic - of any. Seems like a nice lil' shootin' stick though. Was a impulse by at Sportsmans - but I can't find too much to dislike.

It is a bit heavy for it's size, and the trigger is ok - not great, but not bad either.

I own one. I wouldn't consider putting a scope on it. I'm not going to shoot it beyond a 100 yds and honestly, most of it is less than that. They weren't made for any long range shooting. Do people do it, of course, but that doesn't mean everybody has too. I can plink just fine with my red dot. To each his own, that's why there are so many different guns.

You would think Ruger would have learned something from the assembly/disassembly issues with the Ruger MK I, II and III but I guess not.

I have a Ruger PC9 and just use the iron sights. It shoots great out to 100 yards. I hit the center of a paper plate all day long.
