8 years ago today we lost a member of our AZS community. Many of us knew and considered John a friend. In addition to being a Detective with the Phoenix Police Department he was also an accomplished 1911 gunsmith. Rest In Peace sir.

A hero who gave his life in the line of duty, I don't care what anyone says otherwise.

At least he Swiss-cheesed the punk who took him from his family. That’s a hero’s mark if there ever was one.

Yep, he went down swinging, the mark of a man who never gives up. John was one of the good guys and is sorely missed!

John was a good man and even better 1911 smith, miss the conversations and discussions had, may you rest in peace.

I can tell I've been around too long, I remember when Hobbs was skinny and hanging out at Weapon Works back in the day. Was remembering that while sitting on the porch smoking one of Glockmonger's cigars. We've lost a lot of good guys over the years 😢

Thank you sir for your service, sacrifice, and for standing in the gap between those who would do evil, and the rest of us.
