I just thought I would put this out there to see if anyone else on here is into this. I belong to Narcoa Rail. It's like ham radio, remote control cars, etc. They have a huge following. I have a A5 Fairmont speeder. Here it is. A5 photowith measurements.jpg
Anyone else into this hobby?

Nothing to contribute but to say that is cool. 😎

To give you the cliff note version. The United states is broken up into 11 areas. Arizona is in area 11. So what happens is I think Arizona has 3 or 4 EC's . (Excursion Coordinator) . They have host Rail roads they work with. With in the calendar year these EC's put on runs with the host rail roads. They get 20 to 30 cars together and we pay a fee, and we run for 30 to 60 miles and turn around and come back. If you want to know more google Narcoa Rail. They have some really good info on their web site.

Here are some other speeders.

It gives you a chance to see America from the rail road tracks. You get to see things you just can't see from the road.

I was going to say that they look like the worker transport that I see being used by the track department, until I saw the video that they are the old ones being kept alive/restored, very cool, thanks.

I'd love to participate. That is really cool.

Thanks for sharing all these info.

If you want to go. Next year when I get done rebuilding my speeder. There is a short 60 mile trip that starts in superior I can take 6 people in my car. You are more than welcome to go.

Some daring individuals run the abandoned line from Gila Bend to Ajo in home-made rigs...

Parts of it go through the bombing range and the MP's occasionally offer diversions...

I went on their website. The Grand Canyon run looks like that could be fun.

How much do you have invested in your speeder Elk?

I have around 4k invested in that one. I'm building one from scratch with airbag suspension and a kubota engine. I will have around 5k in that one.

There are other videos on youtube about rail road speeders if you guys are interested.
