Rail mounted lights

I'm looking to purchase a rail mounted light and looking for recommendations. It must have this following:
. Picatinny mount
. Takes AA or AAA batteries
. LED bulb
. Has remote pressure switch

Right now I'm leaning toward the Streamlight ProTac Rail Mount 1. Is there another light I should consider?

Surefire and Streamlight are the major players. What is to be put on, pistol or rifle? i assume rifle with the remote switch option.
Those specs are going to be difficult to find as most everything takes CR123 batteries.

Why does it have to use AA or AAA? The CR123 is probably a better battery for your application. How much do you want spend? A surefire will most likely cost double what a streamlight will. Also, the firearm you will be using it on is helpful information. I've used an Inforce APL mounted on top of my AR forend, in front of the front BUIS, and it works great. Plus, it can swap to my pistol if needed.

It would be side mounted on a pistol or rifle caliber sbr. AA or AAA batteries because I won't use the light much and if the battery is low or dead I'll always have a AA or AAA battery available, instead of buying more expensive batteries just for the one light. Looks the the Streamlight Rail 1 is the only light that meets my requirements.

Streamlight makes a good product, and it would suit your needs.

CR123 batteries are slightly more expensive; but they last for 10 years on a shelf, unlike alkaline. I've carried a Surefire Backup for 6 years, changed the battery twice. I also have a streamlight penlight that takes 2 AAA's and whenever I go to use it, the batteries are dead.

Also, looking at the stats for that light, the AA config only puts out 150 lumens vs 300 with the CR123. but since that light has the ability to accept either battery, I'd use the CR123 primarily and use the AA option as a backup.

That looks like a legit light, and now I kind of want one...

I agree, the dual battery option is really nice.

My last duty rifle used the Protac from straight.
I really liked it, worked well, even getting beat around in the rifle rack of a car all day.
