So it seems the going rate for primers has settled at about $100/k.

Does anyone think it will ever came back down?

If so, the next year? 2? 3? ...

17 months, 26 days, 14 hours, and 37 seconds until primer costs are back to normal.

36 seconds

35 seconds

34 seconds

IMHO...

Prior to now, Sandy Hook was the biggest panic buy driver that I've experienced. But I paid less than $16.00/K for primers after that.

This is certainly bigger, and it's going to last longer, but $100/K will not be the new price for primers.

My prediction is $40/K 18-24 months from now.

-Or-... most of us will be dead from massive civil war, or WWIII. Flip a coin.

With the recent wholesale price increases, $34-38 is the new wholesale, so somewhere around $50-60 will probably be the new OTD price.

This is the 4th primer shortage in my lifetime. The first was when Clinton got elected the first time and I was almost caught with my pants down. By the time primers came back I was down to around 2K.

After that I stocked up and have been stocked on all components ever since. It was obvious to me it was going to happen again.

Same here, Idiidn't get caught short handed thru any of the primer panics because my motto was always be prepared for the worst.

Well, it seems opinions all over the place...only one of them do I hope happens. LOL

Opinions are all you'll get. If anyone actually knew when primers or ammo prices would go back to normal, they wouldn't care because they already won the PowerBall.

I know, but I thought there might be some sort of consensus. LOL

Well if I really had any idea of what I was talking about, I'd be a millionaire.

You mean you aren't? I thought everybody on this board was a millionaire.

I shoulda sold a few boxes at the peak, but with all the old sites I used to know being taken down, I didn't have anywhere to advertise them.

Even now, I could get $60 profit per box, make a couple hundred bucks but it doesn't really seem worth it.

Glad to see AZ shooting is back though!

Why is it that I can get bullets, brass, & powder, but not primers?

I stocked up on ammo after Obummer's first crisis shortage, but never thought to load up on primers. Then when Trump came into office, it kind of left my mind that there might be a problem in the future.

I almost got some today. Ammoseek notified me. I was in the middle of checking out on the website and it suddenly says..."it seems your cart is empty." :(

I ordered this stuff called prime all that lets you reload your spent primers, took a month for shipping, but I've tried it out and it works great.

I've seen video on that. If all else were to fail...I suppose. But that goes to a level of tediousness I'm not willing to do at this point.

A couple of weeks ago, on the Smith and Wesson forum, there was a postings that primers were finally showing up in stores at regular retail. I believe in the Midwest.

I had a friend selling small pistol primers for $135.00 a 1000. I told him he was crazy. He sold 5,000 already.
I don't doubt it, Sportsman Outdoor has been selling them for $129.00 per thousand plus shipping, hazmat and tax. They sell out in minutes.
