I will make a note on my calendar to revisit and revive this thread in January of 2025, so we can see how we did.
I have a terrible track record for predictions. For example, I predicted Trump would lose in 2016, and would win in 2020.
Please don't post something like "There is no telling; I can't possibly predict." Cowboy up. Make some predictions, and next January we will all see how we did.
Here are mine:
- China takes over Taiwan, Biden pays no attention, it barely makes the news.
- Israel destroys Iran's nuclear lab, triggering a big conventional war in the middle east. The US doesn't help; nobody helps, Israel ceases to exist, most of the people are killed, and the rest become refugees in South America. The new country of Palestine becomes "free, from the river to the sea" and like all the "liberated" countries (e.g., Rhodesia) quickly becomes a third-world s___hole.
- The dollar is devalued, the stock and bond markets crash, shortages of everything become permanent, and everything is blamed on radical right wing extremist MAGA Nazi Republicans, and especially radical right wing extremist MAGA Nazi Republican Jews.
- Trump loses the election (stolen), and is put in jail.
- Zelenskyy resigns, and moves to Switzerland with his embezzled fortune. His replacement signs a peace treaty with Russian, and Ukraine becomes part of Russia once again.
- Ammunition production ceases. Guns are made illegal. Those whose names are recorded on 4473s, who do not turn in their guns, find that their ATM and credit cards don't work, their bank and financial accounts are frozen, and their cell phone service, electricity, and gas are cut off. Nobody else turns in their guns, but gun stores and gun shows are shut down, and nobody dares practice, either at a range or in the desert, for fear of being arrested or shot "for resisting arrest."
- There is no revolution or civil war, just a few flare-ups, and the US, like Venezuela, turns almost overnight into a third-world s___hole. Under President Harris.
Future elections are suspended, to protect democracy.
The Arizona Cardinals have a losing season.
