Well it's been 2 months and no permit yet. I hope Pinal county hasn't completely closed up shop.

Damn. 2 months for just a permit. Are you working with a big company like presidential or doing the build your own?

Build your own pool.. I checked with them, they turned it in 2 months ago. I called pinal and yup that was correct. They must just be sitting on it.

I'm sure they are 'just sitting on it'. Not like there is anything else in the world has been happening that could possible delay permits, or keep people from working over the past two months. I'm sure they singled you out on purpose. "Hey, isn't this the crazy old man who's installing a blast shield next to his front door?...he doesn't need a pool."

It took a little over 2 months to get approval for our security door and screens.

You're supposed to get a permit for a security door and screens?

That's what I thought.
I have hung lot's of security doors and never needed a permit.

I didn't get a permit for mine and that was 15 years ago.

Phoenix code does require a permit for any improvement or change out, for example, water heater, light on exteior of home, and of course, fencing, no matter what kind, can't say ive seen a requirment for security doors, but it might be, probably mostly for egress and access via fire ect. for resident. much like each window in a bedroom must be a certain size to allow egress in emergency

some crazy crap in the code, oh yeah, if a re roof no permit, if you tear off the roof or roofs and then re roof a permit.
just the power we have given them.

Wait..... if you live in a gated community I could see a permit for a security door.
