Polymer 80 Laser Engraving

Anyone thought about, or had a custom serial number laser engraved on their P80 build?

It intrigues me a bit.

I know that Lonewolf offered custom serial number engraving if someone bought a kit through them, but was wondering if anyone on the forum had it done locally?

Interested in constructive feedback on this.

As I understand it, it's not necessary. It's not needed to sell the weapon, and it's certainly not needed if you're keeping it.

A serial number means you are making a series of parts and need to identify an individual part.

What ATF says is that you "should" put a unique identifying mark in case of theft or loss to enable recovery (Hmmmmm, but it has happened). That unique mark doesn't have to have your name or anything, just a unique mark.

You could also probably order a tiny wood burning brand and have whatever you want on it...

I'd stay away from serializing it. If you want a serialized p80 you can buy them already made as a handgun receiver and not go through the hassle of building it.
